Project Description
This scheme comprises of a block of 8No. flats (5No. 2 bedroom and 3No. 1 bedroom) which replaces an existing house. This has been conceived to appear as a large 2.5 storey dwelling within the streetscape. Whilst a contemporary approach could have been taken, we followed a more traditional line which was favoured by the City Council's Urban Design department. Details such as bay windows, chimneys, a projecting porch, dormer windows and hipped roofs have been used in order to relate this to nearby buildings to help give the proposal a domestic scale and also relate to the 1930's suburban context.
