Project Description
This scheme of nine apartments is located far back from Long Road behind a belt of protected trees which lend it something of a parkland setting. The apartment block takes on a simple stepped form which varies in scale between three and four storeys, intended to mediate between the Addenbrooke's Hospital campus and the domestic scale of traditional houses nearby.
The built form has been kept as consciously minimal, with deeply recessed balconies included to provide private amenity areas without the visual clutter. Windows are all full height and are of the same 900mm module to retain a consistent appearance. The external finish is a stone-like render with dark contrasting cladding used to the upper floor.
