Planning consent has recently been obtained to build 6No. houses (of circa 250m2 each) following the demolition of the existing houses (Nos. 3 & 5) on the site. Three dwellings are proposed along the Queen Edith’s Way frontage with the remainder located towards the rear of the site, served from a private road.
A contemporary approach which responds to the surrounding suburban vernacular has been taken. The house types have been conceived as simple gable-ended forms with modern double-height bay windows. Other details include chimneys and recessed porches. Secondary lower scale elements have been introduced to provide a varied roofline and to introduce a transition in scale between neighbouring properties.
The project is currently under construction with completion due in early 2019. Project Team: Planning Consultant - Carter Jonas, Structural Engineer - AFP
