This a reserved matters application for the detailed design of a large self-build house. There are 13 other plots in the scheme which are currently being marketed and/or under construction. The frontage of the building takes on a simple cubic Georgian form with a symmetrical façade, and then the rear of the building opens up with larger panes of glass and sliding openings that connect the interiors to the garden and open countryside beyond. A rear balcony creates a veranda and, along with a metal pergola, provides solar shading to southern glazing in summer months whilst maximising solar gain in the winter. The house will be built from Imperial Handmade Bricks with elements of knapped flintwork.
