This site is situated within the local conservation area to the west side of the village and backs on to the river Cam. The brief was for a moderately sized four-bedroom replacement dwelling with a lift and ground floor annexe, together with a look-out tower facing the river. A drive-through was also required to maintain a vehicular access to the rear garden for a future slipway. This undercroft also allowed for any surface water to pass from uphill. The final design was very much a result of a collaboration with the client which resulted in a very unique property which is considered to respond well to the vernacular of this village on a number of levels.
