Project Description
This scheme involved the erection of 2No. detached dwellings (circa 300m2) following the demolition of the existing 1950’s house within the local conservation area. The two houses are of a similar design, made up of a simple form with narrow gables facing the highway and two offset gables to the rear, with a long deep plan.
The scheme is considered to fit well within the local scale and pattern of development and, in retrospect, it is somewhat surprising that the original planning application encountered a high level of local opposition and had to be taken to appeal.
