Project Description
This project involves the conversion of a former stable block and a range of farm outbuildings to form a single dwelling. The site is adjacent to a Grade 2 Listed ice house, therefore retaining the appropriate rural character was a major consideration.. The outbuildings were partly rebuilt using clunch (a soft chalky limestone) from a local stone mason. A new link was created between the buildings so they could function as a single unit. The main stable block features a double height living room with a mezzanine. The buildings will be heated via a ground source heat pump. NP Architects were appointed to revise a previous planning consent and to complete all the following RIBA Stages through to completion.
